Supporting the Ones Who Hold the Homefront
The Spouse Seminar is a three-hour, film-assisted experience created specifically for military spouses and partners — the ones who often carry the weight of deployment, reintegration, family life, and transition quietly and courageously.
Built around short films created from interviews Jake Rademacher conducted with spouses for Brothers At War and Brothers After War, the seminar allows spouses to hear from others who have walked a similar path. These stories become the catalyst for guided journaling, honest reflection, and facilitated conversation about the challenges, fears, hopes, and silver linings of military family life.
Using a beautifully designed seminar journal, participants are invited to reflect on questions that matter: What has been the most challenging part of being a military spouse? How do you define community? Have deployments affected your children, your family, or your relationship with your service member? What are your greatest stresses and fears? What helps you remain positive? What goals do you want to set for yourself and your family?
The seminar creates a supportive, encouraging space for spouses to feel seen, heard, and less alone. Through film, journaling, discussion, and shared experience, participants are invited to build connection, name what they are carrying, and take practical steps toward resilience, purpose, and hope.
Whether you are new to military life or have been walking this road for years, the Spouse Seminar offers encouragement, insight, and community — a reminder that your story matters, your strength matters, and you are not alone.
